First Cake

After attending 2 lessons of the decorating class, i think i really enjoy it :)
And here are some pictures of what i have done...

The instructor asked us to bring 8 inch x 3 inch cake..
At first was quite lost cause i dont have any baking materials at home..
But after i asked my friends, she suggested that i can just bring oandan cake..
Its not expensive and can be found anywhere..

So i bought a pandan cake and since theres a hole in the middle, i used a cake roll and stuff it in hahaha...
I came class early to prepare teh icing cause i have no mixer at home..
Turned out there's another girl who can early too so we have to take turn in using the mixer..
Since she wanted to use the mixer first, i ended up quite late to finish all the icing preparation..
Next time i will come even earlier just in case :p

When the rest came i'm still in the middle of the process...
They came all done, prepared with their cake already covered with the icing..
So when i tried to ice the cake, the instructor decided to take over and asked me to prepare the icing for decoration...

The cake evolution :P
Colored icing for decoration
I enjoy the decorating part but its quite tiring after sometimes cause we have to do it one by one until the space is filled with color..
This time round we are supposed to make a rainbow..
So here we goes.. my rainbow with clouds :)

After that the instructor taught us how to make clowns in difefrent pose and positions..
Below is the clowns made by the instructor...

And here is my final cake with 2 clowns buddy hahaha...
All the hard work paid off.. satisfied with my creations..
Though its still far from perfect :P

Final Cake..
After everything i have to clean up all the mess + washed all the bowls and mixers..
It was oily cause teh icing is made from butter stuff... so quite a challenge to wash everything..

Looking forward next week class to decorate cupcakes :)
And next thursday we have to decorate another cake with flower patterns..
This time we have to create our own designs...
It will be more challenging but thats where the fun and satisfaction will come from :)
